Land & Resources
As the historical inhabitants of California’s Capay Valley, our homeland is at the heart of our culture and heritage. To ensure our people thrive many generations into the future, Yocha Dehe embodies a long-term view toward decisions, especially as they relate to stewardship of the natural resources that sustain our way of life.
Our sustainability initiatives stem from our Native traditions. To us, sustainability is not a new idea or a dream to regain the past, but a way to move forward to create a positive future for our families and the region.
We take great pride in managing and cultivating more than 7,300 acres in Capay Valley. We have more than a dozen crops in rotation, including almonds, walnuts, olives, grapes, wheat, safflower, oat hay, all grain forage, alfalfa and sunflowers, and partner with two local growers on our 250 acre organic farm. We are also grazing 120 head of cattle on tribal rangeland, and plan to increase that to 350 head in the future. Learn more about the Property, Farm and Ranch.
