Crystal Smyth
Crystal Smyth was born and raised in Woodland, California and is 2002 honors graduate of Woodland High School. She is YDFD's Business Analyst and has served the department since 2008.
Growing up, she was actively involved in 4-H and FFA raising livestock, showing horses, and serving her community in the Toys for Tots and Christmas/Thanksgiving Food for Families giveaways. She was an active Yolo County 4-H All Star and received the Yolo County Farm Bureau 4-H Member of the Year Award. Upon graduation, she attended the University of California, Davis and was a member in Sigma Alpha sorority, Aggie Ambassadors, and was a UC Davis representative at the National Alpha Tau Alpha Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2005, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Agriculture Business.
With a passion for teaching, she decided to pursue her education by attending Chico State University to work towards her Single Subject and Specialist Credentials. By spring 2006, she completed her student teaching and continued teach high school agriculture until 2008 when she accepted a position at Yocha Dehe Fire Department.
Her current position as a Business Analyst has given her an opportunity to further utilize her education and continue to expand her knowledge in a variety of facets every day. As a member of YDFD, she has been given the opportunity to serve on the state Legislative Task Force Committee as a Fire Service Representative, attend the National Firehouse and Firehouse World Conventions, and serve as the Administrative Fire Service Section Corresponding Secretary, Legislative Chair, and Ways and Means Co-Chair. In 2010, she completed her Master of Science in Business Administration and Human Resources. She is honored to serve the Tribe and thanks them and the community for their continued support they have provided her over the years.
