Kent Wickstrom
Kent Wickstrom is Yocha Dehe Fire Department’s assistant fire chief. Kent was raised in Davis, Calif. and graduated from Davis Senior High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and attended American River College where he earned his associate’s degree in fire science. Kent is a Certified Chief Officer with the state of California.
Kent began his career in the fire service as a volunteer fireman with the Davis Fire Department. In 1974, he became a firefighter in Woodland where he was employed for 31 years, holding the ranks of firefighter, fire engineer, fire captain, fire division chief in charge of training, assistant fire chief in charge of operations and briefly as acting fire chief. During his career with Woodland, Kent had a hand in budget oversight and development. As operations chief, he administered several programs including: fire apparatus, facilities, personnel and records management systems. He also worked as duty chief on a rotating basis.
