Marisa Garcia Fuentes

Marisa Garcia Fuentes is Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy's preschool/kindergarten teacher. She holds a BA in psychology with a minor in spanish, and an MA from Stanford University. Marisa has also earned her California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an emphasis in bilingual cross-cultural language and academic development, and is a lifetime member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.

Marisa’s studies included work in developmental psychology, cognitive development, learning and memory, school reform, career and personal counseling, and theory and issues in the study of bilingualism. Marisa had an opportunity to observe at Stanford’s Bing Nursery School and has participated in early language development research at Stanford’s Center for Infant Studies. Marisa has worked in montessori and in public elementary schools.

Some of Marisa’s favorite activities include reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
