Sam Tyler

Sam Tyler is an engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born and raised in Sacramento, Calif. where he graduated from Sacramento High School and decided on a career in the fire service. He received his associate’s degree in fire technology from American River College and a Bachelor of Science in fire service management from CSU Sacramento.

After college, Sam received his paramedic license and completed training courses on rescue systems, hazardous materials, confined space rescue and swift water rescue.
Sam has worked for Fire Stop, local ambulance companies and volunteered for River Delta Fire District before starting his full-time firefighter and paramedic career at YDFD. In 2006 Sam was promoted to engineer and paramedic.
