Scott Scardina

Scott Scardina is an engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in Monterey, Calif. and attended Foothill High School in Sacramento, where he graduated in 1986.

A close friend of his got a job at a local fire department and suggested that Scott test for a position of firefighter. Scott started as a part-time firefighter for South Placer Fire Department in October 1986. In 1992 he became a certified EMT-D and Firefighter I. The South Placer Fire Department offered Scott a reserve position, and he worked summers for Placer Hills Fire Department. He then held a full-time position with Loomis Fire Department, serving three years as an acting captain.

In 2003, Scott went to NCTI and received his paramedic license. To gain additional experience he worked for Priority One Ambulance for one year. The YDFD fire department offered him a position as an engineer and paramedic in October 2004.
