Battalion Chief

Terry Krout has been a Yocha Dehe Fire Department’s battalion chief since March 2004. Terry brings 30 years fire service experience to the department.

Battalion Chief

Bill Peterson is a Yocha Dehe Fire Department battalion chief. Bill was born in San Rafael, Calif. and graduated from Oroville High School. He attended UC Davis, where one of his football teammates mentioned the resident firefighter program at the UC Davis Fire Department and Bill was inspired to apply. Following acceptance into the program, Bill became the operator of the 1967 Seagrave 100’ aerial ladder truck after his first year.

Battalion Chief

Doug Smith joined the Yocha Dehe Fire Department as a battalion chief in March 2004. He brings 30 years fire service experience to the organization. Doug has been a credentialed fire service instructor since 1985, is past president of the Northern California Training Officers Association, and is a member of the California Fire Chiefs’ Association.

Captain

The Yocha Dehe Fire Department hired Paul Brewer in July 2004 as a firefighter and paramedic and in November of the same year, he was promoted to engineer and paramedic. In September 2011, Paul was promoted to captain.

Chuck Garton is a captain at the Yocha Dehe Fire Department. Chuck was born and raised in the Sacramento Valley area. He has always been active in team sports, such as baseball and basketball, and found the fire service to be a good fit for him because of the teamwork approach to accomplish goals and objectives.

Charlie Grows is a captain at the Yocha Dehe Fire Department. Charlie’s fire service career includes more than 35 years, beginning at age 16 with the Folsom Volunteer Fire Department, a four-year tour with the U.S. Air Force as a crash/structural firefighter, 28 years with the University of California Fire Department and presently with the Yocha Dehe Fire Department as a captain.

Mike Quinton is a captain at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. Mike has more than 34 years of experience working in the fire service. He was a volunteer firefighter in 1971 with Aptos Fire Department in Santa Cruz County. From 1973-1975, he was a reserve firefighter with Bakersfield City Fire Department. Mike also spent six years with Branciforte Fire District in Santa Cruz County, as a volunteer captain.

Gary Seabold is a captain at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in Southern California, and moved to Granite Bay in 1978. Gary started his fire career in 1980 with the South Placer Fire District. He has also worked part time for Newcastle, Penryn and Loomis Fire Protection districts. In 1980, he was promoted to the rank of captain with the SPFD where he was also an acting battalion chief.

Steve Bristow has been an engineer and paramedic for the Yocha Dehe Fire Department since November 2003.

Jesse Hall is an engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. Jesse grew up in the small town of Columbia, Calif. and always wanted to become a firefighter and follow the steps of his father and brother. Working to fulfill this dream, he took college fire science classes while still in attendance at Sonora High School.

Scott Scardina is an engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in Monterey, Calif. and attended Foothill High School in Sacramento, where he graduated in 1986.

Joel Scott was promoted to engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department in 2011. He has lived in Yolo County for most of his life and began his firefighting career with the U.S. Forest Service when he was 18 years old.

Damen Snow is an engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in Elk Grove, Calif. and started his fire service career in Sacramento County during his senior year of high school. Before he graduated, Damen attended training at American River College to become an EMT-D. He received most of his experience responding to emergencies and treating patients on an ambulance in Galt.

Sam Tyler is an engineer and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born and raised in Sacramento, Calif. where he graduated from Sacramento High School and decided on a career in the fire service. He received his associate’s degree in fire technology from American River College and a Bachelor of Science in fire service management from CSU Sacramento.

Norm Alexander is a firefighter and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born and raised in San Jose, Calif.

Mike Booth has been employed with Yocha Dehe Fire Department since May 2005 and holds the rank of firefighter and paramedic on "C" shift. Mike began his fire service career as a reserve firefighter with the City of West Sacramento.

John Enea is a firefighter and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born and raised in Redwood City, Calif. and studied general education at Foothill Junior College and fire science at College of San Mateo. He received EMT-1 training at Skyline College in 1996, worked as an EMT-1 in San Mateo County, and became a volunteer firefighter cadet with Woodside Fire District in 1997.

Dan is a firefighter and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in San Francisco in 1972, and grew up in Marin County.

Gavin Greenslate was born and raised in Yountville, California and is a 2001 graduate from Vintage High School. In 2006, Greenslate received an Associate of Science degree in Fire Science and graduated the Firefighter I and Paramedic Academy from Santa Rosa Junior College.

Andrew Estrada began his career in the fire service in 1999 on a Type II wildland firefighting hand crew. In 2000, Andrew joined the Black Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew, an elite Type I wildland firefighting hand crew and remained with Black Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew for five seasons.

Chris Marson was born in Grass Valley, CA, and has resided in the foothill area throughout his life. He started his fire career with Cal Fire in 2002 as a seasonal firefighter, and was later promoted to engineer paramedic in San Mateo County. He was hired with YDFD in 2009 as a firefighter / paramedic.

Joseph Perez is a firefighter and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area, where he still lives there today.

Scott Stimson is a firefighter and paramedic at Yocha Dehe Fire Department. He was born in 1972 in Contra Costa county. Upon his high school graduation, he enrolled in EMT and paramedic school and took fire science courses at Solano College.

Matt began his fire career as a volunteer firefighter with the Eldridge Fire Department in June 1994. He graduated from the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Academy in February 1995 and in June of 2005 received his associate’s degree in fire science. While with Eldridge FD, he received his state certified Firefighter I in 1997.
