Yocha Dehe Fire Department is endowed with the finest fire service professionals in the state. The men and women of the YDFD are highly trained, extremely motivated, well-educated and loyally focused on their core mission of service to the community.

The department was formed in 2004, and since that time has added two, four person paramedic engine companies and remains the first Native American fire department to earn accreditation for a second time in 2015 by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). Yocha Dehe Fire Department plays a vital role in emergency response and life safety throughout the Capay Valley and Yolo County by providing full-service fire protection, technical rescue, wilderness search and rescue, fire prevention, emergency preparedness and paramedic services.

The hard-working professionals of YDFD are dedicated first and foremost to guarding the quality of life for the citizens of our community and patrons that visit the Capay Valley, through multi-dimensional emergency response and the protection of life, property and the environment.
