Living Language Circle

We celebrate language in many ways. In 2012 Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, along with the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians met to develop the first Living Language Circle: California Native Language Teachers Conference. This conference serves as a gathering place for California language teachers to meet and share ideas. In 2013, language teachers from 25 tribes from throughout California met at Yocha Dehe to strengthen their bonds, share tools and techniques to revitalize California’s languages. The Living Language Circle offers a unique environment for those teaching Native languages in California.
