Mia Durham

Mia Durham is serving her fourth term as Council Member on the Yocha Dehe Tribal Council after being re-elected in January 2018.

Council Member Durham is actively involved in the tribal community, serving as Chair of the Community Fund Committee. She serves as Secretary of the Health & Wellness Committee, and is a member of the Fire Commission, Property, Farm & Ranch Committee, Events Committee, Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy Board of Trustees, Doyuti T’uhkama Board and the Facilities & Infrastructure Committee.  

As former Chair of the Health & Wellness Committee, Council Member Durham is and continues to be dedicated to the improved wellbeing of the Yocha Dehe community. Under her leadership, the committee became deeply engaged in nutrition and fitness improvements, and offered assistance to tribal elders and youth through social and mental health programs.

In 2017, Council Member Durham was appointed to the Northern Valley Indian Health (NVIH) Board of Directors. NVIH is a private, nonprofit tribal organization that was founded in 1971 and provides medical and dental services.

Council Member Durham is a strong advocate for education for all tribal people, and serves as Secretary of the Board of Regents of the California Tribal College, a project Yocha Dehe helped to initiate to benefit all tribes in California.
