Physical Education

Physical education is an integral part of the total education of every child.  Quality programs are needed to increase the physical competence, health-related fitness, self-responsibility and enjoyment of physical activity for all students. The programs at the Academy are well planned and well implemented in order to provide these benefits.

The Academy’s physical education programs are all individualized training programs with emphasis on cardio, core strength, functional strength with increased flexibility, balance and coordination.  Students are allowed 45 minutes, four days per week of structured fitness training. The training plans are structured for maximum participation, but still allow students to learn while being physically active.

The school playground features an all-weather track, an obstacle course and play structures for each age group. The community facilities include a large playground, athletic fields for soccer and softball, and a multi-use sport court. Students take advantage of the community swimming pool during weekly swimming lessons. A fitness room is available for older students to use free weights and stationary machines.
